Refrigerating devices: cooling preservation with grain cooling unit
Proper storage must be ensured in order to maintain the quality of the grain and to avoid quantity losses.
The cause of spoilage of freshly harvested grain is the self-heating of the grain due to its own respiration. Carbon dioxide, water and heat are released during respiration. Self-heating depends on the grain moisture and the grain temperature. The result is a loss of dry matter, as well as the development of microbes, molds and insect damage, e.g. by the grain weevil.
The cooling units used by Zuther reliably regulate the temperature to approx. 13°.
