Zuther sets the course for the future. The new ERP system was successfully put into operation. With the constant development of the company, the requirements for a modern enterprise resource planning system also increased. And so, in 2018, the management decided to invest in the digitalization of the company. After almost one and a half years of process analysis and intensive project work, the new ERP system was successfully put into operation.
One system for the entire company
The new ERP system enables state-of-the-art work. The new system connects all departments of the company so that there is only one leading system. From the first contact in customer relationship management in sales and the preparation of quotations, to the design and manufacture of the machines, to the delivery of the assemblies supported by barcode scanners, every process remains digitally traceable and enables transparent working. As a machine and plant manufacturer, a certain degree of flexibility is required in order to be able to react appropriately to individual customer requirements. In addition to flexibility, the new ERP system enables many helpful interfaces to other systems. For example, it enables the connection of the CAD system or the entire machinery. The interfaces not only enable a better throughput of the orders, but also offer a variety of other possibilities, such as a concurrent order calculation based on the machine times reported back. Redundant work can be significantly simplified or even avoided with system support.
Modern & digital working
The investment not only made it possible to reduce throughput times, but also offers Zuther’s employees a completely new, modern way of working. In addition to the entire quotation and order management, project planning, production and warehouse management, the entire internal communication can be mapped in the system. Our employees communicate with each other in the form of chats or workflows, which can be attached directly to the respective business transaction. Paperwork is largely dispensed with. An intelligent document management system reduces paperwork enormously. Especially in the current Covid19 pandemic, which partly required working from the home office, we tugged on the advantages of the new system.
