The fine-dosing screws are developed and manufactured by SHA within the Zuther Group and are synonymous with the highest dosing accuracy for demanding bulk materials. They are used wherever materials need to be fed with precision and reproducibility.
Typical applications include the chemical industry for dosing additives and powders, the production of building materials such as cement, lime or fillers, and food processing, for example with flour or additives. The systems enable both continuous and batch processes and ensure a stable material flow – even with difficult-to-flow media.
A key advantage lies in the precise and uniform dosing combined with a compact design. Options such as dosing stars ensure the material is metered in a controlled and uniform manner, whilst pneumatic shut-off devices prevent unwanted trickling. This allows even small quantities to be precisely controlled and minimises process fluctuations.
The systems feature a consistently modular design and can be extensively customised. Available options include agitators for loosening bulk materials, sleeve collars for dust-tight connections, level sensors for process monitoring, and pneumatic vibrators for flow optimisation. Additionally, removable dosing stars are available for easy cleaning and maintenance, as well as suspension solutions using clamps.
In addition, an extended range of options is available, such as mechanical shut-off valves or quick-release systems to limit residual flow. For potentially explosive atmospheres, the precision dosing screws are optionally available in ATEX-compliant versions. On request, we supply complete units including all fittings right through to ready-to-operate cabling. Sophisticated sealing concepts and precision-manufactured transitions also ensure a high level of dust tightness, which is of crucial importance particularly in sensitive process environments.
Special requirements regarding food compliance can also be easily met. Through the use of suitable materials, optimised surfaces and easy-to-clean designs, the systems meet the requirements for hygienically sensitive applications. The Easy-Gasket seal impresses with its exceptionally high sealing performance and offers a decisive advantage, particularly in the food industry.
Precise tolerances, tailored screw geometries and high-quality materials are particularly important in the design and manufacture. Depending on the application, the screws are manufactured from carbon steel or stainless steel and can be fitted with wear protection. The Zuther Group’s many years of experience ensure a robust and durable design.
Compared to alternative dosing systems, precision dosing screws offer a low-maintenance and reliable solution. There are limitations when dealing with extremely sticky or poorly flowing bulk materials, where additional discharge aids may be required.
