Quality by tradition - for generations

100 years of quality by tradition – anniversary year at Zuther
Today, Zuther GmbH is one of the leading suppliers in the field of professional bulk material handling systems. We supply high-performance machines and turnkey systems for a wide range of industries – in use worldwide, reliable even under the most extreme conditions.
Our solutions stand for quality, durability and technical expertise. With Jannik and Jonas Zuther joining the company management, the future of the family business is secure – and the long-standing success story built up by Andreas Zuther is now being continued with new energy and fresh ideas.
A particular focus is on the consistent internationalisation of the company: Zuther is systematically tapping into new markets and industries worldwide – and further expanding its presence as a global provider of individual bulk solids solutions.

Zuther has developed into a future-orientated industrial company that combines tradition and modern technologies in a unique way. As a medium-sized family business, we not only have state-of-the-art production facilities, but are also one of the pioneers in the industry when it comes to digitalisation.
With the introduction of a new ERP system and the development of digital products such as the sFIX maintenance and repair software, we are strengthening our focus on efficiency and customer benefits – today and in the future.

With a highly qualified team, state-of-the-art production and almost 100 years of experience, Zuther has developed into a leading supplier of bulk solids technology.
Today, our systems and machines are used all over the world – including in industrial grain handling, the building materials industry and other branches of industry. Increasing international demand has led to the expansion of our production capacities by two large production halls and to continuous investment in our machinery.
Zuther stands for quality, reliability and customised solutions worldwide – flexibly adapted to the requirements of a wide range of markets and applications.

Due to increasing demand, production capacity was expanded to include two large production halls. In addition, continuous investment was made in the machinery – a first significant step towards semi-automated production, setting new standards in efficiency and quality.
Zuther is no longer only active on the national market – the company has also successfully opened up new international sales markets and supplies customised solutions worldwide.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the production area was extensively modernised – through the use of new machines, the expansion of the production area and the continuous development of the product range.
The company also invested in a modern IT system at an early stage and introduced computer-aided drawing technology – a significant step towards digitalisation.
When Horst Zuther’s sons, Michael and Andreas Zuther, joined the company in 1988, the company succession was organised and the continued existence of the family business was secured.

As more and more small and medium-sized mills were shut down in the 1960s, the company was forced to open up new sales markets. The decision was made in favour of grain storage and silo equipment.
High-performance conveyor technology and grain cleaning machines were developed for this area of application – supplemented by the appropriate dust extraction technology for modern silo systems.
With the introduction of these new technologies and growing sales, it became necessary to expand the metal processing facilities. The existing sawmill was shut down and replaced by a new building for metal processing – a significant step towards focussing on industrial production.

At the beginning of the 1950s, the first cleaning and processing machines for grain were developed. The machines selected sheaves, wafers, seeds, burnt balls and light grains from grain. The outputs were around 2 tons per hour. The machines were made of the finest mahogany.

In 1949, the company moved its headquarters with several employees and families to the Lüchow-Dannenberg district, more precisely to Neu Tramm. The first production and administration hall was set up there.
The new premises provided space for wood and metal processing as well as for a roller grinding and fluting machine for reconditioning milling rollers. This created the basis for significantly expanding the product range in the field of milling machines.
Horst Zuther, son of company founder Karl Zuther, also joined the company at this time and continued the family tradition.

After the end of the Second World War, Karl Zuther, together with his sons Alfred and Hans and a single box of organised tools, began carrying out repairs in small mills in Flensburg-Mürwik in northern Germany.
The family had lost everything they owned during the war – the rebuilding process started all over again: with courage, hope and entrepreneurial instinct.
The business developed step by step. The first premises were rented, machines were purchased and the team grew. Soon the company was able to manufacture its own milling machines again – including semolina and vapour cleaning machines, sifters and flour mixers.
As the company grew, the need for space and infrastructure also increased – the company began to look for a larger location with better transport links.

On 10 October 1921, master miller and millwright Karl Zuther founded the company Karl Zuther, Mühlen- und Speicherbau in Meseritz.
With its own workshop and a team of around 10 to 15 employees, the young company specialised in the modernisation and refitting of small and medium-sized mills – laying the foundations for a company history steeped in tradition.
